You can’t. Anxiety is a normal, functional emotion that helps us adapt to change and respond effectively to problems in our life. The goal is to manage anxiety, not eliminate it.
Everyone feels anxious from time to time. It may not feel comfortable, but it is normal and healthy. There are different types of anxiety disorders and what makes a disorder a disorder is that the symptoms of anxiety are pervasive and prevent a person from doing the things they need to do or want to do, or causes such distress the person’s physical well being is affected.
Everyone needs to use skills to manage anxiety. Learning skills and strategies helps us feel more effective in managing anxiety which then helps us deal more effectively with the issues that may be causing us to feel anxious. In this way we are responding not reacting to problems in our life.
Clinical means the provider is assessing you and creating an individualized treatment plan based on that evaluation which is monitored and measured for progress. Non-clinical implies the participant receives the same therapeutic instruction, but the provider is not evaluating you nor creating an individualized treatment plan.
